Why Direct Sellers Need Personalized Graphics
Sep 01, 2021I often get asked why direct sellers need to spend time creating their own personalized graphics when home office or headquarters sends them professional ones every season. There are a few reasons why I think creating graphics is worth your time and is definitely an income-producing activity you should consider adding to your skills repertoire!
Personal branding is everything.
Of course, your company has a branding style, gorgeous product photos, and a design team that provides everything to you for free (at least I hope so!). So, I'm not suggesting you reinvent the wheel, however, having your own personal and recognizable branding is really important.
There are hundreds or thousands of consultants just like you that are using the same beautiful branded photos from your company. But who does your customer buy from? Corporate? Nope! YOU.
Start paying attention when you show yourself wearing or using your product versus a stock image from HQ. I am willing to bet that a fun, well-taken, and authentic selfie encourages more sales!
Avoid Facebook jail.
Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest. They all have some version of "jail" and they all encourage the use of original content. If thousands of consultants share the same SALE pic on social media, you're likely to get flagged as spam. You can even crop it or put a watermark over it but chances are you'll still get flagged, and maybe even violate your policies and procedures.
Creating your own graphics ensures that your content stays fresh and original so that you can not only be more authentic online, but also make the algorithm happy. And as much as we like to complain about it, the algorithm works in our favor when we create original content.
Learn new things.
One of the major bonuses of direct sales, in my opinion, is the opportunity to learn new things. Whether its new technology, marketing techniques, or graphic design, we are constantly learning as we go.
If graphic design is something new to you, take this direct sales business as an opportunity to learn. It will provide value to your business and customers, give you pride in your work, and help you steer clear of Facebook jail if nothing else!
